San Vito, Rocca San Giovanni and Fossacesia beaches wind
along the "Costa dei Trabocchi" with its picturesque rocks and small
bays, where you can admire the wooden fishing platforms called Trabocchi,
which are a feature of the local seascape. The Trabocchi form their
outline against cane-brakes and orange groves, so beautifully described by
the poet Gabriele DAnnunzio.
Driving along the main coast road you will enjoy the views of the typical
Abruzzo coast villages stretched on the top of hills and all encircled by
thick vineyards and olive fields. And you will admire the sudden enchanting
view of San Giovanni in Venere Benedictine Abbey, the main tourist
attraction in the region.
